Kristina Baker, ’16:  Currently on fieldwork travels in Prague, India and the U.K.

Kristin Bedford, ’14:  Featured in KCRW arts and culture blog, Which Way LA, and hosted by the Los Angeles Visionary Association (LAVA) Salon series.

Rachel Boillot, ’14:  Exhibited at Musee de E’lysee, East Tennessee State University, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, University of Central Florida, Morris Museum, Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center, Phoenix Art Museum, and featured in Ain’t Bad magazine.

Philip Brubaker, ’13:  Philip is the film curator at the Geeksboro Coffeehouse Cinema in Greensboro, NC.  He continues to co-host the film criticism podcast, In the Queue: Film Conversations with Andrew and Phil, which is on iTunes. Philip’s long-term documentary Abandoned has been ten years in the making and will be completed in 2015.

Malina Chavez, ’14:  Recently named Programs Coordinator for the Carolina Digital Humanities Initiative, in the department of American Studies at UNC.

Matthew Cicanese, ’15:  Shortlisted as CIWEM Environmental Photographer of the Year

Alex Cunningham, ’16:   Alex spent a few months bouncing around the Indian subcontinent in pursuit of what turned out to be an elusive monsoon. His rain jacket proved more useful as a makeshift pillow on overnight trains.

Laura Doggett, ’13:  Named a 2015-26  CDS Lewis Hine Documentary Fellow

Erin Espelie, ’14:  Appointed Assistant Professor of Film Studies and Critical Media Practices at the University of Colorado Boulder, and her film, The Lanthanide Series, will continue its film festival run in Seoul, Korea in August at the 15th Seoul New Media International Festival.

Caitlin M. Kelly, ’14, Director of the Power Plant Gallery:  Recent and upcoming exhibitions include The Pill Box Project at ArtFields2015 in Lake City, SC, April 24-May2, 2015 (http://www.artfieldssc.org/mornings in an empty room #3 as part of the group exhibition, ‘Radiance’ at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, IL July 10–August 20, 2015 (http://womanmade.org/upcoming-exhibitions/). And lastly was appointed to the College Art Association, Committee on Women in the Arts (2015-2018)- as part of this I help to write the monthly ‘picks’ on the best feminist art and scholarship – which could mean exhibits, online videos, conferences, graphic novels, etc… and I’m super happy to receive recommendations from alumni and students of their own work or presentations, or something happening in their area. Anna Kipervaser, ’15:  Screened Chora in the Chicago Underground Film Festival and claimed 2nd Prize in the Montreal Underground Film Festival for  Suhail and The One Having Crossed Over. World Premiere of Cairo in One Breath at Full Frame Documentary Film Festival,  The Call of Cairo photography exhibition June 17-September 18 at the John Hope Franklin Center, and A deer hunt and no mistake June 29 at UNEXPOSED.

Qathi Hart , ’16:  Qathi Hart’s ongoing photo project, Critical Self Portraits won an Ignition NW MicroGrant to take the studio to Critical Northwest this summer. Learn more about the studio here.

Lisa McCarty, ’13, Curator of the Archives of Documentary Arts, Duke University:  Recent exhibitions include Das Kann So Gewesen Sein, Griffin Museum of Photography 21st Annual Juried Exhibition, Houston Center for Photography 33rd Annual Member Exhibition, Developer Drawings at Cassilhaus Gallery, and Dateline 012 at Dateline in Denver, Colorado. Recent screenings include Positioning Systems at Microscope Gallery, Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival, Something Said Only Once Festival, Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, and Prime Time at the Asheville Art Musuem. Lisa is presently curating Intimate Gestures: Handmade Books by William Gedney for Duke University’s Rubenstein Library as well as daily documentation of the sun and a photographic adaptation of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Circles.”

John Rash, ’14:   John Rash works at Duke Kunshan University as Lecturer of Documentary and Fine Arts and Manager of Student Activities. John recently won third prize for best documentary short at the 2015 Athens Film Festival, had his work screened as part of the Shanghai Long Week of Short Films, and continues to develop new projects in video, photography, and installation from his home in Kunshan, China.
